Jackrabbit

I was driving at Aetna road in Barber County Kansas one morning towards the Z bar ranch when a Jackrabbit jumped onto the road in front of me and took off at full speed. I had my camera with a 500mm telephoto lens and and had the wild idea of trying to take a photo of it on a dead run through the windshield. I soon learned it not that easy to chase a Jackrabbit while drive with my knee while trying to steady a camera with a 15 pound lens on. I about had a bead on the rabbit but realized it was getting too far in front of me. I looked down to see I was getting left in the dust going 30 mph. Just as it crested a hill I got a very out of focus photo of it before it turn off into the pasture. I think sometimes Jack rabbits enjoy a good race when a coyote is not involved!
